CESSDA Data Management Guide online now

15.12.2017

The CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives) expert tour guide is a cooperative effort of eleven European archives. The guide provides in-depth information on data management across the data life cycle. AUSSDA was involved in the development and witnessed the launch in Ljubljana yesterday.

Researchers looking for an introduction to the concepts of data management now have a useful tool in the form of this online module. It is comprised of six chapters: Plan, Organise & Document, Process, Store, Protect, and Archive & Publish, taking, especially but not only, early career social scientists on a journey through the different stages of a project.

Readers will not only find descriptions of necessary steps in data management planning, but will also be provided with expert tips, examples and an introduction to approaches in different European countries.

Discover a list of questions you need to answer in order to write a data management plan, learn more about how best to document your data, test your copyright knowledge, and find out which Creative Commons license is the one for you.
