Our role in Europe
AUSSDA is the designated Austrian representative in CESSDA, the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives. Through CESSDA, AUSSDA is fully integrated into large-scale European data infrastructure initiatives, and actively participates the strategic development of international data archives.
Our European partners
In June 2017, the European Commission granted CESSDA formal legal recognition under the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). CESSDA is now a permanent legal entity owned and financed by the individual member states' ministries of research (or similarly designated governing authority).
CESSDA ERIC brings together social science data archives across Europe, with the aim of promoting the results of social science research and supporting national and international research and cooperation.

Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC)
Among other things, CESSDA has taken the lead of the Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC) project. This project is funded by the EU research funding programme Horizon 2020 and is the humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences contribution to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), a transnational research infrastructure to support and promote open science and innovation. AUSSDA is involved in several projects within the SSHOC and has taken on the responsibility of developing a communication strategy.
