In the first part of the webinar, participants will learn the basics of visualizations, understand the criteria for good science graphics, get to know the process of visualizing data, and learn more about the role of colours and fonts. The second part of the webinar will introduce them to ggplot2 and its functions to create state-of-the-art plots following the principles from part one of the webinar.

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to

  • know the basic purpose of data visualizations and increase their visual literacy

  • perceive, interpret and comprehend all sorts of different visualizations and

  • create these visualizations for their own research.
