"The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) joining the AUSSDA consortium is a clear signal that we are shaping the future of research data together. This partnership will not only strengthen the diversity and quality of data resources available in the future, but also intensify cooperation between research facilities and universities. Together, we will promote data reuse, drive innovative solutions in research data management and create real added value for the research community," explains Dr Lars Kaczmirek, Head of the Core Facility AUSSDA.
Joining forces with the Austrian Academy of Sciences provides new opportunities to expand the AUSSDA Dataverse with data from social science research at the OeAW. Thus, further disciplines can benefit from the AUSSDA services - be it in demographic research, urban and regional research, comparative media and communication studies or in other fields.
The direct connection to AUSSDA will make it easier for researchers at the OeAW to archive their data, make it accessible to other researchers and lecturers according to the FAIR principles and increase data reuse, which is in line with the OeAW's research data policy.
With the new partner, AUSSDA can also expand its consulting and training services in research data management, from suitable licences to the creation of data management plans.
"By joining AUSSDA, the Austrian Academy of Sciences is strengthening the important endeavour to make more of research data for science and society," explains Dr Sibylle Wentker, Director of International Relations, Fellowships & Awards and Research Funding at OeAW. The AUSSDA team is looking forward to working with the new member and achieving shared goals.
