AUSSDA meets all Horizon Europe Open Science requirements – as one of only two archives in Europe

A new study by the Executive Agency of the European Research Council declares AUSSDA as “exemplary”

Researchers seeking funding from the Horizon Europe programme face a challenge: Open Science requirements must be fully met. However, only a few repositories in Europe offer a solution that covers both the minimum and recommended requirements. AUSSDA does exactly that – as one of only two archives in Europe.

Study confirms AUSSDA as an "exemplary" archive

A study commissioned by the Executive Agency of the European Research Council (ERCEA) examined 241 European repositories – including publication and data repositories. The result: Only three repositories meet the minimum requirements for Open Science from Horizon Europe. AUSSDA and the French archive HAL (Hyper Article en Ligne) take it even step further: They are the only repositories that fully meet the recommended Open Science criteria, which is why they have been classified as repositories with „exemplary readiness level".

AUSSDA: Certified and trustworthy

The Horizon Europe Model Grant Agreement (MGA) stipulates that research results must be published in trustworthy repositories. AUSSDA, the national repository for social science data in Austria, is both trustworthy and certified: It has repeatedly been awarded the Core Trust Seal and supports researchers as a reliable point of contact throughout the entire process of data publication and documentation. A long search for a suitable social science repository in Austria is no longer necessary – a clear competitive advantage in funding applications.

Increased visibility for social science research

AUSSDA makes research not only accessible but also visible. Thanks to enriched metadata, research information is integrated into large scientific knowledge graphs such as the OpenAIRE Graph, resulting in significantly higher visibility of research at the European and global level – which provides also an advantage for science communication.

Conclusion: More than just a repository

At AUSSDA, researchers in Austria benefit from personal support, increased visibility, and clear competitive advantages in funding applications. Learn more about the possibilities of data archiving at AUSSDA.
