The renowned and interdisciplinary university is our second new partner in 2025 - with data stewardship expertise and a strong commitment to Open Science

We are delighted to welcome the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg as a full member of the AUSSDA consortium. “The University of Salzburg impresses with its excellent research infrastructure and its strong commitment to Open Science. As the first regional contact point for AUSSDA in Salzburg, the university will not only actively contribute to the acquisition and processing of research data, but also build a bridge between science, society and politics. The incorporation of highly qualified data stewards, whose expertise will strengthen both data re-use and the local data collection infrastructure, is particularly valuable.

In addition, the University of Salzburg will integrate AUSSDA services into teaching and research and set new standards with targeted training courses on data archiving and management. The promotion of transparent, reproducible research processes and innovative data management solutions underlines the strategic importance of this partnership,” explains Lars Kaczmirek, Head of the AUSSDA Core Facility at the Vienna University Library.

Jutta Horejs-Höck, Vice Rector for Research at the University of Salzburg, also emphasises the added value of the AUSSDA membership, both for her institution and for the scientific community:

“We see the cooperation with AUSSDA as a gamechanger for the University of Salzburg, which will intensively promote the open science movement and research data management at our university. With AUSSDA, the university supports the long-term archiving of social science data, which can be accessed and used sustainably by the scientific community via AUSSDA's certified infrastructure in accordance with the FAIR principles.”
