Focus on Open Science Workshop
Scientific Knowledge Services and its partners introduce a series of workshops in Central Europe on the theme of Open Science. The purpose of the workshops is to introduce the concept and values of the Open Science agenda to new communities.
Chapter 1 of the workshop series is coming up on November 20th 2017 in Vienna. The event is an introduction to the „disruptive change“ which Open Science brings. The presenters will offer a complete overview of Open Science‘s core elements, by showing how Open Access, Research Data Management, e-Infrastructures and Citizen Science are connected and form a building block that represents a future role for research institutions. Registration for the event is possible on the event website.
RDA Europe Workshop
Three days later, on November 23rd 2017, the Research Data Alliance Europe, the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology will collaboratively host a one-day Workshop, entitled Data Stewardship Realized: From Planning to Action.
This event offers the opportunity to take part in discussions covering current data projects and initiatives; the newly established EOSC, the development of national and international research infrastructures, FAIR data, data policies, data management plans and Key Performance Indicators. If you are interested in exchanging your views and your experience with Austrian and international experts in the field of data stewardship, register on the event website.
AUSSDA will be represented and will show a case study of how data stewardship is being handled as a nationwide service for a particular research domain. In the concluding panel discussion, the role of AUSSDA within the context of other Austrian and European data initiatives and strategies will be argued.
