Our Dataverse is back - What's new?

From February 17th to March 1st, our data repository at data.aussda.at. was not available. We used this time for improving our data repository and preparing it for the future. Learn more about the new features here.

We are pleased to offer you even better services after the successful upgrade of our software. All data is now fully accessible again - thank you for your patience. We have updated Dataverse to the latest version 4.18.1, making our data portal even faster and more secure.

On the one hand, it is now easier to find data, export (meta-)data and cite data sets. The search function now offers more filters and fields so that you can find the desired data faster. When downloading data, you can now choose between two formats: One is the compressed SPSS .zsav format and the other one is the new .tab format, which allows you to download data either in the original Stata format or as .tab for programs such as R.

Besides citing datasets, it is now possible to cite individual datafiles as well. Metadata can be exported in many new standards and formats, including DataCite, DDI HTML Codebook, OAI_ORE, OpenAIRE and Schema.org JSON-LD.

We have also improved authentication. By default, Shibboleth is now immediately displayed as the login, saving you one click and getting to the desired data faster. Last but not least, the interface shines in new splendour, so that individual popular data collections are now highlighted on the start page.

Your feedback is important to us

Even though we are pleased about the successful renewal, we are not standing still. We are continuously adapting our infrastructure and optimizing our services. The next major steps will take place in autumn.

How do you like the new Dataverse? If you haven't tried it yet, don’t hesitate to log in and take a look at the new software! If you have any questions or remarks, we look forward to hearing from you at info@aussda.at.
